Join Carlton based historian and author Jeff Atkinson for a lively 2 hour “Historic Carlton Walk and Talk” tour.

Jeff will take you through Carlton’s most interesting streets and laneways and will reveal an earlier Carlton of the 1860s, from before the era of the cast-iron terraces. On this walk you will learn something of Carlton’s early history, its decline from a middle class suburb to a deprived working class area, some of the colourful characters who have lived in Carlton, the impact of the Housing Commission demolitions, and more recent dramatic events.

Starts at 9.00am from the historic Church of All Nations, corner of Palmerston and Drummond Streets, Carlton. Presented by CRA and the Carlton Community History Group.
